Recreational Class Descriptions

Ages 6-18 years From beginner to advanced, Roots Gymnastics Center will provide children with the tools not only to develop gymnastics skills, but provide a fun, safe and motivating atmosphere.  All classes will maintain an average of  7:1 child to coach ratio and are usually 50 min, 1x per week.  These classes are arranged by age and ability level.  They are a great way for children to enjoy physical fitness in a gymnastics paradise.

6-8 yrs (50 mins)

This class introduces children to all gymnastics equipment as well as the opportunity to develop balance, strength, coordination, body awareness and feeling good about oneself. Through organized lesson plans our instructors will teach the necessary progressions from cartwheels to somersaults.  Each class always includes either use of one of our 3 in-ground trampolines and/or foam pits.

9-12 yrs and 12+yrs (50 mins)

Have you always wanted to try gymnastics?  This is a healthy, positive, motivating activity for any preteen/ teenager.  This class can accommodate beginner to advanced ability levels by practicing the four major gymnastics events and taking advantage of all of our state of the art, in-ground trampolines, and foam pits to teach various gymnastics skills.  Take this class for a fun way to keep in shape for other sports as well!

Combo Dance Gym (50 min, age 4-7+)

A truly jammin' funky time will be had by all in this class where we will focus on the newest hip hop/ballet/jazz styles to the latest and greatest age appropriate music & time in the gym enhancing flexibility, strength and coordination.  The class will spend the first ½ of the time in the gym working at least two events and will follow that with the rest of the time in a jam session at All Stars dance studio.

Tumble-n-Tramp (50 min, age 8+)

Love to flip?  Roots Gymnastics Center has unique tumbling equipment -  including an in-ground Aussie Hot Bed Trampoline, tumble strip and in-ground 40’ tumble trak into a foam pit - that help teach all levels, from the beginner to advanced tumbler.

Free Running (age 9+)

Calling all skateboarders, snowboarders, tumblers, and spidermen in training!!!  Learn body control, aerial awareness, flipping, twisting, side rolling, balance and coordination.  Skills learned in this class will help with wake boarding, aerial skiing, in line skating and much much more!

Boot Camp for Boys (age 9+)

This is a new and exciting class offerred for our Boys program at Roots!  Class will include rope climbin, running, jumping, strength exercises, and core work (push ups, sit ups, leg lifts) with use of all gymnastics equipment and more.  All of these activiites promote agility and physical fitness that will not only help to  improve skills for other sports but also gain confidence, discipline, and life long love of fitness.
