COVID Policies and Updates

COVID-19  MASK Guidelines for All (Updated June 1, 2021)

To All Roots Gymnastics Families,

As many of you know, Massachusetts lifted its COVID-19 restrictions for businesses on May 29th. While this is great news for the progress of our community in combatting this virus, it is important to note that Roots Gymnastics plans to maintain its current policies through the remainder of our current season, which will end on June 21st for the majority of our students. This includes maintaining masking for all students (age 5 and older) as well as all staff and parent spectators. We plan to keep masking until 6/21 because:

  • The overwhelming majority of the population inside our building (students) are still unvaccinated. Specifically:

  • 89% of our student population is under the age of 12 and therefore not yet eligible to receive a vaccine.

  • 11% of our student population is age eligible for the vaccine (age 12+) but there has not yet been enough time for most of them to become fully vaccinated with both doses.

We are asking all adults in the building to continue masking (even if you are fully vaccinated) to show solidarity and consistency for the students who are still participating.  Team athletes will continue masking until June 30th.  Roots Gymnastics maintains its commitment to ensuring a safe environment for our students and their families. We proactively implemented a masking policy before it was required for all businesses and are proactively leaving the policy in place until a few weeks after the mask mandate has been lifted. While this is subject to change based on any additional guidance or review offered by the state or local governments, at this time, we plan to remove the masking policy effective with our first day of classes during the summer session on July 5th and cannot wait to welcome everyone back on those dates with bright and smiling faces. Stay safe everyone and thank you for your continued support and patience!
